We will kick off the weekend on Friday, April 25 where guests can experience an unforgettable journey into the past with a sumptuous 1835 period dinner complemented by the engaging presentation by our surprise special guest and a live auction. The following day, we will showcase outstanding Texas history research at our Texas Revolution Symposium. Registration also includes complimentary admission to San Antonio area museums.
Event Highlights:
1835 Period Dinner and Live Auction: Friday, April 25 - Savor a meticulously crafted menu inspired by the culinary traditions of 1835. Dine amidst an authentically decorated setting that captures the spirit and elegance of early Texas. James E. Brasher, author of 11 Days on the Colorado, will be our guest speaker, followed by a live auction! Period attire is encouraged! Immerse yourself fully in the ambiance as we recreate the sights, sounds, and flavors of early Texas. $150 per person (Includes Symposium admission on Saturday)
Texas Revolution Symposium: Saturday, April 26 - Delve into the rich history of the Texas Revolution through a series of thought-provoking lectures, panel discussions, and interactive sessions led by esteemed historians and experts. Walk through old Texas in our Texas artisan vendor hall. Gain fresh insights into the events, figures, and legacy of this pivotal period in Texas history. $30 per person. Children 17 and under are Free!
Local Museum Tours:Sunday, April 27 - Free admission for all Symposium registrants to the Witte Museum, the Briscoe Western Art Museum, and The Ralston Family Collections Center at the Alamo! Texas’ premier institutions dedicated to the state’s rich history, culture, and heritage!
